Doluweerawatta Gamage Ganesh Hemantha Doluweera
I m a Sri Lankan and was
born on 24th September 1977. I live in Polgasowita, Sri Lanka
with my parents and sister.
I had my primary and
secondary education in St. John’s college, Nugegoda, Sri Lanka. I was the
chairman of the Junior Prefects Association and the
Senior Deputy Head prefect of
the college. I played chess for my school team. I Joined the worldwide
brotherhood of Scouting in 1986 as a cub scout and
won the Silver Star (as a cub scout), Presidents Award (as a Boy scout) and
the “Wood badge” (as a scout leader). Being a scout is one of the best
things happen to me in my life. It helped me a lot to reach my goals. I was nominated as the Best
All round Performance Student of my college in 1996.
I Started my higher
education at Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka in
1998. I was graduated as an Electronic and Telecommunication Engineer with a
upper second class honours in 2003. I m proud to be the president of the
Electronic Club of University of Moratuwa which is the main student body of
the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering. I also gave
my contribution to the World University Service Moratuwa Branch to organize
programs to create awareness among the university community about
environment & wild life conservation.
Upon graduation I joined to
a research project which the objective is to detect elephant infrasonic
calls. I m also working as a visiting instructor in the Department of
Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering, University of Moratuwa.
Currently my prime hobby is
birding. I m a member of the Field Ornithology Group of Sri Lanka, which is
the main organization in Sri Lanka to study about birds.
Some of my other hobbies are
travelling, reading and photography. I have few of my photographs
exhibited in both local and international photographic exhibitions.
Now I m looking to start my
post graduate studies.
